About The Position

As a Feed Mill Operator, you will be responsible for learning and understanding the feed mill manufacturing process. This role involves learning the material process flow of the entire feed mill, including receiving, grinding, batching, pelleting, and loadout. You will cross-train in all areas of production/maintenance and become proficient in all areas of plant automation. The operator will manage and plan production needs, ensure the cleanliness of the feed mill and adjacent grounds, and perform duties in accordance with Current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP) and FDA Food Safety Modernization Act (FSMA) protocols. Additionally, the role requires processing necessary paperwork, accounting for items using computer skills, and following established procedures for material flow. Understanding and adhering to safety rules consistent with standard operating procedures is also crucial.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent; or 1+ years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience preferred.
  • Ability to read and write reports and business correspondence, ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from managers, employees, and visitors.
  • Basic understanding of Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Must be able to make decisions on routine matters utilizing company policies, procedures and directions from upper management.

  • Understand and follow safety rules consistent with standard operating procedures.
