About The Position

Operate tractor and water truck to accomplish various assigned tasks in the Feedlot. This role involves performing maintenance and/or construction projects, leveling and bedding livestock pens, and assisting in loading and removing manure to keep pens clean. The position also includes performing light maintenance on equipment such as replenishing fuel, checking oil levels, ensuring equipment is properly greased, and coordinating timely servicing by mechanics.

Requirements

  • Must be comfortable working around livestock.
  • Must be a licensed driver of single axle vehicles.
  • Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
  • Ability to write simple correspondence.
  • Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one situations to employees and managers of the organization.
  • Ability to calculate basic mathematical problems.
  • Ability to apply commonsense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
  • Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
  • Regularly required to sit and reach with hands and arms.
  • Must regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and frequently lift and/or move more than 100 pounds.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include distance vision and depth perception.

Nice To Haves

  • High school diploma, GED or equivalent (Preferred, but not required)
  • A minimum of one to three months experience operating a tractor and other equipment is preferred; further on the job training will be provided.
  • Some experience working around livestock is highly desired.

Responsibilities

  • Operates equipment such as tractors and water trucks to perform maintenance and/or construction projects and to level and bed livestock pens.

  • Performs other duties as assigned by supervisors.
