Requirements

  • Feeder has responsibility that glue machinery is continually being fed with proper carton.
  • Feeder takes stacks of cartons from loaded pallet and places them into feeder of machine.
  • Responsibility that appropriate carton is being fed.
  • Responsibility to feed only quality cartons.
  • Feeder is to observe for machine malfunctions and stop glue machine when problems arise.
  • Feeder uses mirror to detect malfunctions.
  • Feeder is also to be aware of signals from operator or catcher to stop and start machine.
  • Catcher removes the finished folded cartons from the press and packs them into cases.
  • Responsibility that appropriate carton is being packed.
  • Responsibility that only quality products are packed.
  • Catcher is to check that cartons have proper color, register and are void of unnecessary markings.
  • Responsibility that proper count of cartons is packed into case.
  • Catcher is to hand count the first case of each different product being packed.
  • Packed cartons are to be pushed on rollers through taping machine to the Padlocker.
  • Follow all Plant rules, Processes, Hygiene, and Allergens procedures, related to production of Safe Quality Foods.
  • Report to person of authority to record any potentially unsafe conditions which may result in unsafe foods or noncompliance to SQF related procedures.
  • Participate in SQF Root Cause and Corrective Actions (from customer complaints, SQF audits, validation, and verification activities) as required.
  • Follow all procedures related to producing Safe Quality Foods (SQF).
  • Report any potentially unsafe SQF conditions or customer complaints to a person of authority to record and/or correct the situation.

Responsibilities

  • Assuming all duties performed by feeder (feed flat cartons into gluing/paneling machines), catcher (remove product from press and pack into cases) and sorter (quality checks on cartons).
  • Rotating between feeder, catcher, and sorter positions throughout the working shift.
  • Understanding and aligning business operations and Finishing Department to exceed customer expectations and align with GPI business, cultural, financial and operational objectives.
  • Feeding glue machinery with proper cartons by placing stacks of cartons from a loaded pallet into the feeder of the machine.
  • Checking for variances in box number and collator marks to ensure appropriate carton is being fed.
  • Fanning through stacks of cartons being fed and checking for proper color, register, and absence of unnecessary markings.
  • Observing for machine malfunctions and stopping the glue machine when problems arise, using a mirror to detect malfunctions.
  • Being aware of signals from the operator or catcher to stop and start the machine.
  • Maintaining the cleanliness of the area (remove stray cartons, sweep up, etc.) during make ready.
  • Removing finished folded cartons from the press and packing them into cases.
  • Checking item and job number on carton with the job label being used to ensure appropriate carton is being packed.
  • Checking that cartons have proper color, register, and are void of unnecessary markings.
  • Ensuring the proper count of cartons is packed into each case by hand counting the first case of each different product being packed.
  • Pushing packed cartons on rollers through the taping machine to the Padlocker.
  • Responsible for maintenance of the area, performed during make ready.
  • Following all Plant rules, Processes, Hygiene, and Allergens procedures related to the production of Safe Quality Foods.
  • Reporting to a person of authority any potentially unsafe conditions that may result in unsafe foods or noncompliance to SQF related procedures.
  • Participating in SQF Root Cause and Corrective Actions as required.
