Feed Truck Driver - Dalhart, TX
About The Position
The Feed Truck Driver is an essential member of the team responsible for livestock care and feed management at the feedyard facility. The role supports the Feed Delivery Department by delivering feed safely, accurately, and on time. The driver is responsible for following feedyard safety policies and procedures and is expected to be participative, team-oriented, and communicative. The employer may change or assign other duties to this position. The position requires long-term sitting and driving, some lifting and shoveling, and frequent ladder use to access the feed truck. Work takes place outdoors around moving machinery and may involve extreme weather, including rain, sleet, snow, hail, heat, cold, wind, and dust.
Requirements
- One year of relevant experience.
- Experience meeting scheduling expectations.
- Comfort working in a fast-paced environment.
- Familiarity with industry regulations and guidelines.
- Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to take direction from multiple team members.
- Genuine concern for fellow team members.
- Ability to lift 30 pounds.
Responsibilities
- Ensure correct and timely placement of rations.
- Maintain accurate ration records and reporting documentation.
- Maintain the equipment used, including its cleanliness and overall operational integrity.
- Continuously observe cattle and surroundings and report issues.
- Participate in maintaining and cleaning bunks before and after inclement weather.
- Continuously observe and adhere to safety policies and procedures.
- Communicate with the head bunk reader about current and potential opportunities for improvement.
