Feed Mill Technician

About The Position

This position will be responsible for the manufacturing of feed as well as general housekeeping and custodial duties. The technician will follow company Standard Operating Procedures to ensure the mill is kept in a clean state of operation, perform routine maintenance tasks, assist with repair projects, and follow company prescribed safety protocols and other daily tasks as directed by the Feed mill Manager. Schedule is 2nd Shift - starts late morning/midday into evening.

Requirements

High School Diploma or GED preferred.
Takes initiative and can identify what needs to be done and then will execute on it.
Must be task-oriented to complete jobs as needed.
Takes accountability of project and able to manage time.
Regular, punctual and consistent attendance is essential for this position.

Responsibilities

Operates computerized batching systems, mixers, grinders and pellet mill to produce feed.
Receives, unloads and stores ingredients, fill micro-ingredient bins.
Manages inventory levels.
Maintains a clean work environment.
Climbs feed bins.
Cleaning up any spilled feed.
Assist with sampling and testing products per SOP.
Completes safety training timely.
Follows all Animal Welfare policies and practices and informs management of any violations by staff.
Follows bio-security measures according to Bio-Security Policy, including visitor access, sanitation, and disease prevention measures.
Follows all safety rules and practices and ensures others do the same.
Supports, promotes, and adheres to policies, procedures, and values of Passel Farms and industry standards.
Regular, punctual and consistent attendance is essential for this position.
Other duties as may be assigned to fulfill responsibilities of this position and support team goals.
