About The Position

This position is responsible for entry-level, non-skilled general labor within the feed mill. Responsibilities include cleaning and maintaining operational areas of the mill, upkeep of the grounds and landscaping around the mill, and assisting with ingredient receiving when needed, all while maintaining a safe work environment and adhering to Tyson policies and procedures. The role requires the ability to work in various environments, including hot, dry, dusty, wet, and cold conditions, with significant exposure to ingredient dust and inclement weather. Candidates must be able to perform physical tasks such as lifting up to 60 lbs (or up to 100 lbs with assistance), standing, sitting, walking, and climbing ladders/stairs, sustaining physical activity throughout the day. Effective communication, basic math skills, and adherence to company policies, including biosecurity guidelines, are essential.

Requirements

Must not own, possess, or otherwise maintain any domestic, wild or exotic fowl to be considered.
Six (6) months operator experience with one employer in the previous 12 months.
Must wear required PPE ear protection.
Able to work in hot, dry, dusty, wet and cold environments. Heavy exposure to ingredient dust and inclement weather.
Ability to work holidays, weekends, and flexible hours as required based on demand scheduling.
Ability to work in elevated areas and follow all safety procedures.
Able to sign and abide by the Company Biosecurity Guidelines including an agreement to avoid any avian species.
Able to Lift up to 60 lbs. and/or up to 100 lbs. with assistance.
Stand, Sit, Walk, Climb Ladder/Stairs with the ability to sustain physical activity throughout the day.
Must have a valid Driver’s License and a Clean Driving record.
Must be able to complete paperwork, basic math, communicate effectively.

Nice To Haves

1 year feed mill experience preferred.
HS diploma or equivalent preferred.
Previous experience operating various types of powered industrial vehicles preferred.
Previous experience operating a forklift, bobcat, etc.

Responsibilities

Sweep and clean assigned areas of the mill and sign off when completed.
Help and assist with ingredients unloading activities like unloading of rail car/trucks.
Clean up feed spills.
Perform ground keeping duties including using landscaping equipment such as mowers and trimmers.
Use and maintain air driver equipment like blow guns to assist in cleaning activities.
Use high-pressure water hoses to wash down and clean areas of the feed mill.
Use PIT (Powered Industrial Truck) to move pallets of ingredients.
Maintain good housekeeping including service areas.
Communicate to all levels of Operations including Customers and Vendors both orally and in writing where required.
Follow and Operate within all Tyson Health and Safety protocols.
Complete all other tasks assigned by management.
