CHS, Inc is looking for a hardworking individual to join our Animal Nutrition team in Norfolk, NE as a Feed Mill Operator to be a key component in the formulation of the highest quality ingredients and all the essentials to improve animal health. No day will be the same as you will perform an array of operational tasks such as bagging, mixing, pelleting, receiving or managing loading functions based on business needs. Requirements

  • 1+ years of experience in operations, production, manufacturing and/or agriculture environments.
  • Must meet minimum age requirement

Nice To Haves

  • Ability to operate machinery such as loaders, conveyors, tractors, and track mobile
  • Ability to work extended hours during peak seasons to meet business demands
  • High School diploma or GED preferred
  • Agriculture experience preferred
  • Forklift certification preferred

Responsibilities

  • Under general supervision, operate feed mill equipment (grinders, mixers, batching/ pelleting systems) of a processing facility.
  • Responsible for product quality, meeting safety requirements, and throughput in the assigned area.
  • Conduct continuous inspections, monitor equipment, record operating parameters of key process points and make necessary machinery and equipment adjustments to ensure specifications and production targets are met.
  • Comply with and implement all regulations and requirements including completion of necessary record keeping.
  • Perform routine equipment maintenance (greasing, inspections, minor troubleshooting) and report mechanical issues.
  • Responsible for housekeeping, sanitation schedule, and general appearance of the assigned work area.
  • Receive, handle, and move feed ingredients, load and unload trucks.
  • Prepare and manage loadout, including opening hatches, attaching hoses, sampling, and ensuring accurate product delivery.
  • Successfully complete initial, ongoing and supplemental training.
  • Maintain and promote a strong safety culture and follow all safety policies, procedures and regulations.
  • Identify and communicate workplace hazards and correct or seek assistance in correcting unsafe actions or conditions.
  • Work together with co-workers in a professional manner to support overall plant operations, anticipate and solve problems in a timely manner, and identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Perform other duties as needed or assigned to support operations.
