About The Position

Operate and oversee all operator areas within the feed mill, including receiving, batching, production floor, and loadout, to ensure compliance with established procedures for quality, productivity, and safety. This role operates in a fast-paced working environment.

Requirements

Ability to read and understand documents such as safety rules, maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
Basic computer skills.
Strong mechanical aptitude and electrical knowledge.
Experience with fork truck/skid loader.
Must be willing to learn and perform the different areas of the feed mill process.
Must be able to work effectively with others in a team environment.
Driver's License
Experience operating a tractor/trailer for yard use

Nice To Haves

Previous feed mill or manufacturing experience preferred.

Responsibilities

Follow standard operating instructions/procedures in all operator areas, including flushing procedures for batching, and maintain record keeping.
Collaborate with a small team, learning and taking responsibility for various tasks to support the team and the mill.
Operate all area equipment and tools, such as computers, grinders, forklifts, etc.
Prepare and maintain shift activity reports, track production reports, sampling reports, bag dump reports, and reconciliations.
Perform daily inventory of feed, bulk, and micro ingredients.
Conduct cleaning duties as outlined in standard work and as directed by the supervisor.
Ensure the safety of all employees and company assets.
Maintain orderliness and housekeeping in all areas of the feed mill.
Manage the filling of micro-ingredient and tote systems, and maintain necessary stock at batching areas and receiving as needed.
Adhere to all environmental laws and report any environmental issues immediately to the supervisor.
Perform other duties as assigned by the manager/shift supervisor.
