Feed Mill Operator (3rd Shift) - Forest City, IA
About The Position
The Feed Mill Operator executes daily production and load-out goals according to established daily and weekly feed order levels. The role involves operating equipment to produce swine feed that meets quality guidelines, maintaining equipment and housekeeping standards, and supporting routine preventive maintenance. The operator also performs quality assurance tests, documents production and receiving activities, and helps ensure efficient truck loading and appropriate feed scheduling and bin utilization. The position requires cross-training across mill manufacturing functions and may include assisting with warehouse operations. The operator is expected to follow safety procedures, contribute to feed mill safety initiatives, maintain a cooperative and customer-focused approach, and perform additional duties assigned by a supervisor.
Requirements

Responsibilities
- Ensure proper safety, equipment, and housekeeping procedures are followed.
- Support and engage in feed mill safety initiatives.
- Operate machines to produce swine feed to established quality guidelines.
- Perform quality assurance tests and make adjustments to the grinding process to achieve acceptable quality.
- Operate load-out equipment to load trucks efficiently.
- Perform and monitor documentation for batching, grinding, load-out, and ingredient receiving.
- Assist in warehouse operations as necessary.
- Follow defined guidelines to produce quality feed.
- Assist with routine preventive maintenance on feed mill equipment and maintain required documentation.
- Ensure proper feed and load-out scheduling.
- Manage bins and their utilization properly.
- Perform additional duties as assigned by the supervisor.
- Cross-train to perform effectively across mill manufacturing functions.
- Maintain a high standard of customer service and collaborate with other departments.
