About The Position

This entry-level role works under our feed mill manager, tackling various responsibilities to help improve our co-op's daily efficiency, meet our goals, optimize our market share, and provide incredible customer service. You'll need an eye for detail as you manage our feed product inventory, accurately prepare ingredients for the next mix, and ensure compliance with animal health and food safety preventative controls. Every day, you'll attend production meetings and coordinate schedules/activities with management. Then you'll get to work performing tasks like cleaning/organizing the feed mill, toting out finished feed bags, loading delivery trucks/customer vehicles with ordered products, and more. As you work, you'll promptly notify your manager about equipment maintenance and inventory needs. You'll check forklift oil levels, record your findings, and make sure all equipment is properly serviced and maintained. If you need to work on equipment or enter a restricted area (i.e., grain bins and confined spaces), you'll fill out the proper permits. No matter what you're doing, you'll make sure to wear PPE, follow all health and safety regulations, and maintain a positive, friendly, and professional demeanor. Performing additional duties as assigned, you'll contribute to continual improvements and help us keep growing within the industry!

Requirements

  • Willingness to work half-days on every other Saturday from 7:30 am to 12:00 pm
  • Math skills for measuring weight, counting money, calculating distance/volume, and performing other calculations
  • Ability to accurately follow written and verbal instructions
  • Ability to stand, walk, reach, climb, and work through interruptions
  • Ability to lift 50 pounds
  • Ability to use computers
  • Ability to differentiate between color-coded products
  • Ability to work in an environment where you may be exposed to wetness/humidity, moving mechanical parts, fumes, chemicals, extreme temperatures, and noisy equipment
  • Strong problem-solving skills
  • Solid communication and interpersonal skills
  • Organizational skills and attention to detail

Responsibilities

  • Manage feed product inventory
