About The Position

This position is primarily responsible for unloading incoming ingredient trucks into correct bins, while maintaining organization and maximizing space utilization depending on current stock. In addition, the associate will perform housekeeping activities, maintenance and repair of equipment, and quality checks on ingredients. The role also involves preventing theft or loss of product, ensuring trucks leave empty, and maintaining compliance with all company policies, FSMA regulations, and local, state, and federal policies, laws, and regulations.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Knowledge of feed manufacturing equipment operation and maintenance.
  • Ability to perform basic math functions (i.e. proportions, percentages, area, volume, etc.).
  • Possess basic computer knowledge and usage abilities.
  • Ability to work unsupervised and self-motivate.
  • Ability to communicate effectively, and read and write legibly.
  • Possess sound work ethic, honesty and moral character.
  • Ability to work nights, weekends, holidays and extended shift hours.
  • Frequently stoop, kneel, crawl and bend.
  • Frequently climb stairs and 50+ foot ladders.
  • Ability to lift and carry 50 - 100 lbs.
  • Ability to work in confined spaces.
  • Constantly subject to dusty, hot environments.
  • Frequently work in loud environment requiring ear protection.
  • Frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts.
  • Ability to work at heights of 200+ ft.
  • Ability to operate a pallet jack with 2,000+ lbs. of material.

Responsibilities

  • Operate auto-receiving system.
  • Unload incoming trucks.
  • Inspect incoming material verifying condition and quality of product received matches receiving documents.
  • Collect feed samples in accordance with sampling plan.
  • Ensure bins and storage areas do not overflow.
  • Complete and maintain appropriate paperwork and reports.
  • Rotate stock.
  • Communicate and coordinate batching schedule and production with appropriate personnel maximizing efficiency while following FDA, GMP and QC procedures.
  • Perform preventive maintenance and cleaning of equipment.
  • Communicate equipment malfunctions to appropriate personnel.
  • Perform routine housekeeping ensuring designated areas are kept clean.
  • Operate forklift as necessary.
  • Comply with all company policies, FSMA regulations, and local, state and federal laws, and regulations.
  • Perform all other duties as assigned.

  • Pay Ranges based on years of employment: Entry through 4 years of Employment = $19.80, 5 years through 9 years of Employment = $20.05, 10 years through 14 years of Employment = $20.30, 15 years through 19 years of Employment = $20.55, 20 plus years of Employment = $20.80
