About The Position

Bell & Evans is seeking a dependable and safety-focused Feed Driver to join our transportation team. In this role, you will play a critical part in supporting our farming operations by safely transporting feed from our mills to local farms while maintaining the highest standards of professionalism, biosecurity, and customer service. This is a 3rd Shift position, Sunday - Thursday, 7:00pm - 7:00am.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED) required.
  • Valid CDL required with a clean driving and safety record.
  • Strong understanding of DOT regulations and safe driving practices.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills.
  • Ability to work 12+ hour shifts and adapt to changing operational needs.
  • Strong communication and organizational skills.
  • Commitment to teamwork, reliability, and workplace safety.

Nice To Haves

  • Minimum of 1 year of experience hauling animal feed or operating tractor trailers in an agricultural environment preferred.
  • Experience with rural route driving, agricultural deliveries, or feed transportation strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Safely operate tractor trailer combinations to transport feed to farms throughout designated delivery areas.
  • Complete all required DOT logs and documentation accurately and in compliance with federal regulations.
  • Perform thorough pre-trip and post-trip inspections to ensure equipment is operating safely and efficiently.
  • Monitor vehicle performance and communicate maintenance or safety concerns promptly.
  • Understand and comply with weight restrictions, scale procedures, overweight permits, and local route regulations.
  • Navigate rural roads, farm access points, and varying weather conditions safely and effectively.
  • Operate and understand feed mill load-out systems including conveyors, trolleys, and drop bins.
  • Follow strict agricultural biosecurity protocols to help protect flock health and food safety standards.
  • Respond professionally to on-road issues, schedule changes, or delivery concerns while maintaining excellent communication with dispatch and farm personnel.
  • Maintain a strong attendance record and demonstrate flexibility with scheduling, including holidays, weekends, and extended work hours as needed.
