About The Position

Catholic Charities Brooklyn and Queens (CCBQ) has been providing quality social services for 125 years, offering over 160 programs and services for various populations including children, youth, adults, seniors, and individuals with mental illness. The Clinics provide a professional and welcoming environment, offering psychotherapeutic and psychopharmacological therapy, individual, group, and family therapy, crisis intervention, medication management, case management, and collateral sessions. CCBQ emphasizes wellness, recovery, trauma-informed care, and physical-behavioral health integration.

Requirements

  • Master’s Degree in Social Work from a nationally accredited institution.
  • Valid NYS LMSW required.
  • Obtain NPI immediately upon employment.
  • Must obtain and maintain all licensure/certifications for which employee is educationally and professionally eligible in NY State.
  • Excellent Time Management, organizational and computer skills.
  • Ability to evaluate and intervene in crisis situations.
  • Flexibility.
  • Excellent oral & written communications skills.

  • Bilingual Spanish or Creole speaking preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

  • Assess client needs holistically and connect clients with necessary internal and external services.
  • Provide direct service to clients in outpatient mental health programs under the direction of a Clinical Supervisor.
  • Deliver services in a professional and ethical manner, consistent with best practice tenets.
  • Function as part of a treatment team, maintain mandated levels of service, and participate in Agency meetings.
  • Comply fully with Agency policies and procedures.
  • Perform initial interviews, crisis intervention, and ongoing therapy with individuals, groups, and families.
  • Adhere to all standards of contract compliance, audit readiness, Agency policies and procedures, and regulatory requirements.
  • Work as a member of a team to ensure the overall integrity and welfare of the Agency.
  • Meet Agency requirements for qualitative and quantitative documentation, including progress notes, treatment plans, intake assessments, correspondence, termination summaries, and encounter forms.
  • Ensure referrals are made to appropriate internal and external services.
  • Respond to all referrals in a timely and professional manner and follow up on referrals made on behalf of a consumer/family.
  • Conduct individual, family, marital, and group therapy as dictated by the client’s clinical needs.
  • Monitor and coordinate psychiatrist psychopharmacology appointments.
  • Coordinate physical, medical, and psychological needs for clients.
  • Complete and submit all documentation required for Agency reimbursement within 24 hours of session.
  • Maintain all applicable standards of audit readiness.
  • Attend and actively participate in supervision.
  • Participate in Agency response to serious incidents as needed.
  • Participate in meetings with supervisor and other staff, trainings, and planning and evaluation of individual work and agency functioning.
  • Engage in supervision with a consultant LCSW towards clinical licensure.
  • Attend up to 21 hours of CEU training.
