Federal Work Study - Off Campus
About The Position
Federal Work Study (FWS) employees are active students who are awarded a fixed maximum amount of earnings over a specific time period as part of their financial aid award package. A portion of each student’s earned hourly wage is paid by federal funds, provided that hours worked are properly documented and the employee’s time record is certified and signed by the supervisor. Student employees generally work up to 25 hours per week in student service and community service positions. Eligible and approved positions may be on campus or off campus at approved nonprofit community service organizations.
Requirements
- Must be enrolled in and actively attending Fortis College Indy.
- Must have been awarded Federal Work Study funds through Financial Aid.
- Good organizational and communication skills.
- Must be trustworthy and able to follow directions.
Nice To Haves
- Prior working knowledge of basic computer operation is desirable.
Responsibilities
- Work in a student service or community service position.
- Properly document hours worked.
- Ensure the time record is certified and signed by the supervisor.
