About The Position

This position is for a Federal Work Study student to work 3 to 20 hours per week in Mail and Print Services. The primary responsibilities include delivering mail and packages, performing various binding and printing tasks, and assisting with departmental functions. The role also involves providing excellent customer service to faculty, staff, and students regarding mail, shipping, receiving, printing, and bookstore operations.

Requirements

  • Must be a current degree-seeking student enrolled in at least 6 credits.
  • Must maintain Satisfactory Academic Progress.
  • Must maintain a minimum GPA of 2.0.
  • Must be eligible to receive FWS based on financial need and eligibility requirements determined by FAFSA.
  • Excellent time management skills.
  • Level of computer literacy sufficient to use software such as word processing, spreadsheets, and databases to produce correspondence and documents.
  • Good oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
  • Maintain high level of confidentiality regarding all sensitive mail, paperwork, documents, tests, memos, etc.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver paper and packages.
  • Perform binding, tabbing, folding, inserting, labeling, bulk mailings, and hand collating.
  • Handle confidential shredding.
  • Provide and maintain a high level of customer service by assisting faculty, staff, and students regarding mail/shipping/receiving, printing, photocopiers, supplies, and work orders.
  • Sort mail.
  • Provide backup for all mailing/shipping/receiving tasks, both incoming and outgoing.
  • Log in all packages received by Mail and Print Services that have a tracking number.
  • Reconcile cash drawers and balance daily receipts, prepare reconciliation and deposit.
  • Alert supervisor of major errors.
  • Cross-reference deliveries to the Purchase Order when needed, noting delivery, serial numbers, asset tags, etc.
  • Distribute mail as needed.
  • Make campus deliveries of mail, packages, duplicating orders, and paper.
  • Process mail forwarding and return to sender mail.
  • Prepare forms as required by UPS, FedEx, and USPS.
  • Receive and prioritize incoming calls to the bookstore and mail and print services.
  • Assist callers, direct to the appropriate person, or take and relay messages.
  • Assist as cashier for the bookstore.
  • Assist with daily sales operations in the bookstore, including keeping shelves and sales floor well stocked, maintained, and merchandised.
  • Assist with end-of-term buyback.
