Federal Litigation Attorney — Immigration

Konare Law•Frederick, MD
•Onsite

About The Position

Konare Law is expanding its federal immigration litigation practice and seeks an attorney with approximately 2–4 years of substantive federal civil litigation experience. The attorney will manage assigned cases, write persuasive briefs, and exercise sound judgment under demanding deadlines. The practice addresses unlawful immigration detention, agency delay, and reviewable agency decisions. The attorney will receive supervision and immigration-specific training, with the opportunity to take on increasing responsibility and develop toward a practice leadership role. When federal workload permits, the attorney will assist with immigration matters. Assignments will account for federal deadlines and emergency litigation needs. Performance is assessed based on legal analysis and advocacy, compliance with court deadlines and procedures, timely case assessment and filing, client communication, case management, billable productivity and collections under firm standards, case outcomes in light of the facts and law, fee-recovery efforts, and contributions to practice development. Filing volume alone does not define success; litigation recommendations must rest on a supported legal theory and realistic assessment of available relief. During the first 90 days, the attorney is expected to complete onboarding, establish reliable screening and deadline procedures, assume an appropriate initial docket, and develop reviewed templates for recurring matters. Within the first 12 months, the attorney is expected to manage an established docket with increasing independence, demonstrate consistent work quality and client service, contribute to sustainable practice revenue, and help train colleagues. The position is in person.
