About The Position

This internship offers a unique opportunity for individuals passionate about changing the world's energy future. The intern will provide administrative and research support to the INL government relations staff in the Washington DC office. Key responsibilities include coordinating and supporting meetings, maintaining a welcoming office environment, assisting with office reimbursements, attending and summarizing congressional hearings, tracking media and legislative activity, and completing a legislative research project under the guidance of a mentor. Additional tasks may be assigned as needed.

Requirements

  • Enrolled full time as an Undergraduate or Graduate student.
  • Seeking or earned degree in: Political Science, International Studies, English, or a related field.
  • Minimum overall 3.0 Grade Point Average.
  • Authorization to work in the U.S. (including CPT and OPT).
  • Males born after December 31, 1959 must have registered with the Selective Service System (SSS).

Responsibilities

  • Provide administrative and research support to INL government relations staff.
  • Coordinate and support meetings for the INL-DC office.
  • Provide a welcoming environment for office visitors.
  • Aid in office reimbursements.
  • Attend and provide summaries of congressional hearings relevant to INL.
  • Track relevant media and legislative activity.
  • Complete a legislative research project in collaboration with a mentor.
