About The Position

We are seeking a Feature Systems Engineer with strong automotive systems engineering experience to support the development and integration of new vehicle features. The ideal candidate will work cross-functionally with engineering, program, and business teams to define customer-focused feature objectives, ensure requirements alignment, and support the delivery of new vehicle features.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in electrical, Mechanical, Software, or Systems Engineering, or an equivalent degree from an ABET-accredited university.
  • 3–5 years of automotive industry experience.
  • Strong understanding of automotive systems engineering.
  • Experience with at least one automotive functional domain, such as: Electrical Chassis Body Interior
  • Knowledge of ISO 26262 and functional safety principles.
  • Understanding of automotive regulatory requirements and industry best practices.
  • Knowledge of INCOSE systems engineering principles and requirements decomposition.
  • Strong project coordination and organizational skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical audiences.
  • Automotive Systems Engineering / Automotive Systems Understanding
  • Automotive Functional Domain Knowledge — Electrical, Chassis, Body, Interior, etc.

Nice To Haves

  • Master's degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Software, or Systems Engineering, or an equivalent degree from an ABET-accredited university.
  • Experience with IBM DOORS or similar ALM/PLM requirements management tools.
  • Hands-on experience in systems engineering.
  • Experience developing or interpreting system/network topology diagrams.
  • Ability to analyze problems from multiple perspectives, including software, hardware, and field/customer environments.
  • Strong knowledge of one or more automotive functional domains such as Body, Chassis, Electrical, or Interior.

Responsibilities

  • Create, maintain, update, and track Customer Feature Objectives (CFOs) throughout the development lifecycle.
  • Analyze CFOs to ensure alignment with project objectives, engineering standards, and customer expectations.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to establish and implement best practices for global feature development strategies.
  • Support the development and implementation of new platform-level vehicle features.
  • Support program-specific feature development and engineering activities.
  • Conduct competitive benchmarking and participate in Voice of Customer (VOC) clinics to support product and feature development.
  • Coordinate with engineering teams to identify, analyze, and resolve system-level issues.
  • Communicate technical concepts effectively to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Support requirements decomposition and traceability throughout the systems engineering lifecycle.
