The mission of this role is to lead and deliver high-impact enterprise implementations by owning the product, team, and execution for our Forward Deployed Engineering pod. The role involves rapidly translating complex customer needs into scalable solutions that not only solve immediate problems but evolve into core platform capabilities.

Requirements

  • Proven ability to ship consistently on time and in scope, with strong execution discipline and predictable delivery.
  • Hands-on technical capability—you can contribute to code, understand system design, and actively participate in technical decision-making.
  • Experience managing or leading a small team, including 1:1s, feedback, and performance management.
  • Strong customer presence—you are comfortable leading conversations, refining requirements, and pushing back when needed.
  • Ability to decompose complex customer problems into structured, estimable work and identify creative solutions that avoid unnecessary engineering effort.
  • Experience working in or alongside enterprise implementations, professional services, or customer-facing engineering teams.
  • Proficiency using AI tools across product development workflows, including discovery, documentation, and engineering.
  • Strong collaboration skills with cross-functional partners, especially Sales Engineers and technical leads.
  • Ability to balance customer urgency with long-term platform value, ensuring solutions scale beyond a single engagement.
  • Demonstrated ownership mindset—you take responsibility for outcomes, not just output.

Responsibilities

  • Own the full lifecycle of enterprise engagements, partnering with the Sales Engineer to scope customer requirements into clear, actionable work with defined success criteria.
  • Lead delivery from planning to release, ensuring work is completed on time, in scope, and meets customer expectations before sign-off.
  • Work directly with customers to refine requirements, provide progress updates, and ensure alignment throughout the engagement.
  • Act as a hands-on builder by contributing to code alongside your engineering team—this is not a ticket-writing role.
  • Use AI-assisted tools across discovery, documentation, requirements, and development workflows to accelerate delivery.
  • Manage and lead a small, high-impact team consisting of a Principal Engineer and Software Engineer, including running 1:1s, providing feedback, and driving performance.
  • Run daily syncs with your team to align on priorities, remove blockers, and maintain delivery momentum.
  • Drive adoption of AI tools across the team’s software development lifecycle.
  • Ensure every solution has a path to reuse by enforcing platform-minded thinking—no one-off builds.
  • Partner closely with the Principal Engineer to validate solution design, enforce Tier 1 and Tier 2 classifications, and ensure architectural alignment.
  • Produce post-engagement insights that identify platform gaps and opportunities to scale solutions across future customers.
  • Collaborate with the Sales Engineer to challenge assumptions, refine scope, and ensure what is sold is both valuable and deliverable.
  • Balance speed and quality by resisting premature builds and ensuring tight scoping before execution begins.
