About The Position

Knowledge Services is seeking an experienced Fast/GenTax Programmer for a long-term remote contract supporting the State of Maine through June 2027, with potential for extension. Applicants must be currently based in either the EST or CST time zones. This role is essential for improving the efficiency and accuracy of tax processing.

Requirements

• Minimum 5 years of programming experience.
• Minimum 2 years of experience with one of the following FAST ENTERPRISES, LLC technology systems: GenTax, Fast DS-VS, Fast UI-PL, or Fast CSE.
• Experience with Fast Core components.
• Proficiency in C#.
• Proficiency in PostgreSQL.
• Proficiency in Visual Studio.
• Must be currently based in either the EST or CST time zones.

Responsibilities

• Configure the STARS application.
• Perform analysis, design, coding, testing, and documentation.
• Code enhancements and develop required fixes to production problems using the functional and technical programming standards of the GenTax system.
• Execute required steps for implementing SQR change requests in the FAST Gentax system.
• Track changes in the Fast Central Repository (FCR) following project standards.
• Coordinate work with other software developers.
• Participate in structured code reviews and walkthroughs.
• Execute responsibilities with little direct supervision.
