About The Position

This position oversees the day-to-day operations of the Warren County Farmers Market and reports to the County Extension Director. This is a temporary position anticipated to last from June 20th through September 26th, 2026.

Requirements

Knowledge of farming practices or related field
2 or more years' experience with customer service
Strong computer literacy, oral and written communication skills
Ability to plan, implement, market, manage and evaluate programs and market facilities
Possession of an appropriate driver’s license valid in the State of North Carolina that is in good standing
Reliable transportation

Nice To Haves

Promotional experience is preferred
Graduation from high school with a preferred two-year degree or higher in Agriculture Marketing or related discipline

Responsibilities

Open, close and operate the farmers market
Accept, review and approve vendors
Maintain detailed records of vendor, revenues and customer accounts
Plan and facilitate Farmers Market Advisory committee meetings
Search for, initiate and gather necessary documentation to acquire available grants and sponsors
Develop and implement marketing strategies
Co-facilitate the Visit NC Farms Mobile App
Generate new opportunities for the market, i.e. cantaloupe day, guess what’s in season, etc.
Connect and/or conduct training opportunities for vendors, i.e. food safety, vendor presentations, etc.
Fiscal management of farmers market budget and vendor booths
Enforce farmers market rules and regulations and address issues with the public as they arise
Facility management
Performs related tasks as required
