About The Position
Eric Kent Brown seeks a farm worker for work in Jennings, LA. This role involves various duties related to crawfish and rice farming throughout the year. During peak season, responsibilities include crawfishing activities such as preparing bait, baiting and checking traps, and grading/washing crawfish for shipment. General farm labor is also required, including maintenance, shovel work, hoeing weeds, field preparation, water maintenance, and fertilizing. At the end of the crawfish season, duties shift to planting rice. During the non-peak season, the role focuses on cutting and harvesting rice, assisting in flooding fields for the upcoming crawfish season, and preparing the worksite. This preparation includes organizing crawfish traps and equipment, placing traps in fields, and general upkeep of the farm, fields, levees, and shop. It also involves cleaning, placing, and setting farm equipment and crawfish boats, as well as general farm sanitation duties. The position requires 40 hours per week. No minimum education, training, or prior employment experience is required. Local travel between worksites in Jefferson Davis Parish, LA is necessary. The ability to lift 50lbs is required. Random drug screening upon hire is paid for by the Employer.
