About The Position

We are looking for a Farm Technician to join our team at Bluebird Gap Farm, please see below for more information on this position. The purpose of this position is to perform general animal care, maintenance, repair work, and grounds maintenance duties in addition to feeding and caring for the animals at Bluebird Gap Farm. This position performs duties according to set procedures and works part-time, averaging 25 hours a week. Join the City of Hampton team! Requirements

One (1) year of paid or unpaid experience in the general care, handling, and feeding of domestic animals/wildlife, preferably in a farm and/or zoo setting.
Knowledge of the general care, handling, and feeding of domestic animals/wildlife.
High school diploma or successful completion of the GED preferred.
Must be age 18 or older at the time of hire.
Must possess a valid driver’s license and must have and maintain a satisfactory driver’s record based on the City of Hampton’s criteria.
Requires effective communication with internal and external customers.
Requires good physical condition.

Responsibilities

Perform general animal care, maintenance, repair work, and grounds maintenance duties.
Feed and care for the animals at Bluebird Gap Farm.
