Select Genetics is the leading supplier of poults to growers and companies worldwide. The Farm Manager's requirements are as follows: Basic math skills are essential. Basic computer skills preferred. Be a self-starter without the need for constant supervision. Good written and verbal communication. Good reading skills. Wash and disinfect turkey production facilities in a safe and organized manner. Follow the company’s rules and regulations for biosecurity, animal welfare, and safety. Work respectively and collaboratively with one General Farm Worker, The Vaccination Crew (when they service the farm), The Service Technician, The Veterinarian (when they visit the farm), The Breeder Manager, and The Chief Operation Office (whenever he visits). Be willing to help in any area to get the job done. Can push, bend, stoop, squat, pull, and lift to 50lb. Successfully work with live animals. Organize and prioritize responsibilities to ensure efficient operations. Perform the job duties while constantly moving and using hands, occasionally lifting objects while exposed to dust, cold, humidity, heat, chemicals, and fumes. Work an extended day, night, and weekend. This is crucial when a new flock of birds arrives because they are babies. Present a positive and professional image of the company. Exhibit courtesy and professionalism in everything you do. Follow the directives of The Service Tech and The Division Manager. Use and demonstrate time management well. Ensure the safety of Select Genetics assets (weed eaters, mowers, water hoses, etc.) under the position’s management. Maintain a safe and clean working environment. A willingness to work varied schedules where some weekends will be required. Daily document and input mortalities in the M-Tech (Company’s database system) the number of dead and culled birds per barn, if any. Take feed inventory daily or at least every other day to ensure bins are adequately supplied. Call in the farm’s weekly feed order early on Wednesdays. Weigh birds weekly as directed by The Service Tech and/or The Breeder Manager to ensure birds' weights are where they should be. Follow and enforce all company regulations on biosecurity, animal welfare, and safety. Other duties as assigned by direct supervisor.
