About The Position

This position involves performing the daily duties of a large farm operation, including the daily management of a beef cattle herd. The role also includes maintenance of buildings, grounds, roadways, and the operation and maintenance of all farm equipment. A key aspect of this role is the utilization of an inmate workforce, which requires providing training, supervision, and evaluation to inmates while they perform farm tasks.

Requirements

• General knowledge of crop production from planting to harvest
• General knowledge of maintenance and operation of farm equipment
• General knowledge of building construction and land management
• Demonstrated ability to operate farm equipment
• Demonstrated ability to supervise
• Ability to follow written and oral instructions
• Ability to keep accurate records
• Ability to solve practical problems
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office
• High School Diploma or Equivalent
