Responsibilities

  • Responsible for the supervision of CNE Farm, located on the West side of the Better Living Centre.
  • Coordinate the move-in / set-up as well as the move-out / tear-down of various exhibit areas. Includes exhibits managed by the CNE as well as exhibits presented by external contractors and commodities. Adhere to a pre-approved floorplan. Coordinate move-in / move-out schedules and provide support as needed.
  • Assist with the physical set-up and tear-down of CNE exhibit areas. Includes: arranging stanchions and fencing, putting up signage, tidying/raking/sweeping and any other tasks required to ensure the building is ready for the general public.
  • Liaise with electricians / plumbers / labour workers / carpenters / painters / cleaning staff – identify and communicate needs for move-in, move-out, and during the fair.
  • Coordinate with the safety team to ensure compliance with safety standards, accessibility needs, fire regulations, and all other emergency protocols.
  • Provide customer service as required: answering questions/concerns from exhibitors as well as the general public, providing basic directions, addressing feedback.
  • Provide basic support to other Agriculture exhibit areas where overlap exists – coordinate sharing supplies or equipment.
  • Liaise and work with the Livestock Superintendent and Supplier.
  • Work in coordination with and provide direction/support to various staff and contractors: Assistant Farm Superintendent, Kids AgVenture Supervisors.
  • Open and close the building everyday, in coordination with the other Superintendents and staff. Liaise with Security as needed.
