About The Position

Belstra Group Farms is seeking individuals to fill farm maintenance positions within its organization of over 20 swine farm facilities in Northwest Indiana. The maintenance team is responsible for the upkeep and repair of physical structures, buildings, and swine equipment, including automated feed systems, animal penning, and water systems. This role also involves moving building materials. All work must be performed in compliance with company policies and relevant local, state, and federal regulations.

Requirements

• Minimum of 3-years maintenance experience.
• Proficient reading, writing, and communication skills.
• Basic computer skills for using a tablet for a service software program.
• Ability to work alone or as a team.
• Basic Electrical knowledge.
• High school degree or equivalent.
• Must possess a valid driver's license.
• Employees are required to complete and maintain various safety trainings, including General New Hire Safety Training, Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) & Requirements, Tractor Training, Forklift Certification, Confined Spaces, Lockout/Tagout (LOTO), Electrical Safety, Hot Work, Respirator Fit & Training, Spill Prevention Training, Scissor Lift, Man Lift, Car Lift, Boom Lift, Telehandler, Skid Steer, Excavator & Mini Excavator.

Nice To Haves

• 1-year experience as a mechanic or mechanic assistant preferred.
• Knowledge and familiarity of hydraulics.
• Technical training is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Inspect, maintain, and repair small engines, generators, and farm-specific vehicles (buses, trailers, tractors) in accordance with factory and industry standards.
• Maintain accurate parts inventory.
• Maintain shop cleanliness.
• Keep vehicle maintenance records and paperwork accurate and up-to-date.
• Ensure services comply with safety procedures.
• Follow the Belstra Group Farms Animal Welfare Policy and proper PPE safety guidelines.
• Perform general electrical work.
