About The Position

PL Only Organics (Preserve 5 LLC) operates a 50,000 sq ft commercial greenhouse in Douglasville, Georgia, growing certified organic vegetables for wholesale and direct distribution. We are looking for a highly skilled, hands-on Head Grower / Farm Manager to lead all cultivation operations, manage a small team, and ensure the consistent, high-quality supply of fresh organic produce year-round. This is a boots-on-the-ground leadership role. The ideal candidate will work alongside their team daily, bringing deep agronomic expertise, strong organizational instincts, and a commitment to organic growing principles.

Requirements

  • Minimum 3–5 years of hands-on experience in commercial greenhouse vegetable production
  • Demonstrated experience managing a team in an agricultural or horticultural setting
  • Strong working knowledge of organic growing inputs, soil health, and IPM
  • Proven ability to maintain consistent crop yields and meet supply commitments
  • Physical ability to perform manual labor: lifting, standing, and working in a greenhouse environment

Responsibilities

  • Plan and execute full growing cycles for a diverse range of organic vegetables across the 50,000 sq ft greenhouse
  • Monitor and manage all environmental parameters: temperature, humidity, irrigation, fertigation, and lighting
  • Implement and maintain Integrated Pest Management (IPM) protocols consistent with organic certification requirements
  • Develop and follow planting schedules to ensure a consistent, uninterrupted supply of product
  • Maintain growing records, crop logs, and yield data for each production cycle
  • Directly supervise and mentor a team of 2–3 greenhouse workers
  • Assign daily tasks, monitor performance, and provide hands-on training
  • Foster a safe, collaborative, and productive working environment
  • Coordinate crew schedules to align with harvest windows and operational demands
  • Maintain steady, predictable harvest volumes to meet buyer commitments and supply agreements
  • Grade, pack, and manage post-harvest handling to minimize losses and maintain freshness standards
  • Liaise with operations management on sales commitments, volume forecasts, and delivery scheduling
  • Identify and resolve any supply gaps or crop failures quickly and proactively
  • Uphold all USDA National Organic Program (NOP) standards and assist with annual certification audits
  • Maintain compliance documentation including spray logs, input records, and traceability files
