About The Position

ACU is affiliated with the fellowship of the Church of Christ. This position requires the employee to be a professing Christian and to be willing to support the Christian mission of ACU. The Farm Manager will oversee the day-to-day operations of the Rhoden Field Laboratory (RFL), including livestock care and management, facility/equipment maintenance and repair, and supervision of student employees. Responsibilities also include teaching horses and horsemanship lab, assisting faculty with labs, providing farm oversight support to supervised research projects, pasture and cropland management, and sponsoring the ACU Riding Club. The ideal candidate will uphold and support the Christian mission and values of Abilene Christian University, foster a collaborative and engaging learning environment, contribute to program development, and support departmental activities.

Requirements

An undergraduate degree in Farm or Ranch Management, Animal Science, or a closely related field (required)
Experience working with livestock and horses
Ability to teach undergraduate lab for Horses and Horsemanship course.
Ability to perform ongoing maintenance and repairs for the facility and equipment.
Ability to coordinate with faculty to provide classroom needs for activities at the Rhoden Field Lab.
