The Farm Manager will be responsible for managing the full profit & loss and a multi-million dollar asset base, driving farm profitability through lower cost of production and increasing quality and volume of wean pigs shipped. This role involves developing the leadership and technical skills of a team, ensuring the Performance Management system is properly executed, and participating in the development of annual operating goals, human resource needs, and farm business plans. The manager will monitor, review, and analyze biological and financial performance, identify root causes of issues, develop countermeasures, and execute plans to restore performance. Responsibilities include overseeing recruiting, hiring, on-boarding, and development of new team members, promoting safe work habits and a safe working environment, and coordinating all farm inputs. The role also ensures the implementation of standard operating procedures, technologies, and innovations to improve production and environmental stewardship, implements individual pig care practices to maintain animal health and well-being, and owns, monitors, and directs all practices that promote Bio-Security. Additionally, the Farm Manager is responsible for identifying major capital repairs, routine repairs, and maintaining a preventative maintenance program.
