The Farm Manager II is responsible for the comprehensive management of a sow farm, overseeing its full profit & loss and a multi-million dollar asset base. This role is critical for driving farm profitability by reducing production costs and enhancing the quality and volume of wean pigs shipped. Key responsibilities include developing the leadership and technical skills of Team Leads and Production Technicians, ensuring effective execution of the Performance Management system, and contributing to the development of annual operating goals, human resource plans, and farm business strategies. The manager will monitor and analyze biological and financial performance to identify issues, develop countermeasures, and restore performance. Additionally, the role involves overseeing all HR functions from recruiting and hiring to onboarding and development, promoting a safe work environment, and coordinating all farm inputs such as feed, water, labor, and medications. The Farm Manager II will also implement standard operating procedures and new technologies to improve production and environmental stewardship, ensure individual pig care and biosecurity, manage capital and routine repairs, and lead genetic improvement strategies including Gilt Development Unit management.
