About The Position

Provide maintenance expertise within the farm services operations group working as a team member to ensure the farms are operating at a high level of efficiency utilizing mechanical support skills to construct and support farm equipment. This person must have the demonstrated ability to supervise and lead while at the same time function as a member of the team.

Requirements

  • Record keeping and organizational skills.

  • Previous work experience with most power tools supplied by the company.
  • Experience with hand tools which may or may not be supplied by the company.

  • Successful applicant is expected to stay in the position for 6 months.
  • 1 year of experience or equivalent education.

Nice To Haves

  • Tig welding a plus.
  • High School Graduate or GED preferred.
  • Experience providing maintenance in food/agriculture setting preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain and fabricate farm equipment and perform overall facility maintenance to produce high quality trout products for customers.
  • Work with hydraulic systems, including motors, pumps, pressure switches, directional flow control valves, check valves, hydraulic manifolding, piping, and fittings.
  • Work with pneumatic systems, including cylinders, air motors, control valving, piping, and interpret pneumatic schematics.
  • Perform welding using oxy-acetylene cutting torch, oxy-acetylene welding, stick welding on mild steel and stainless steel, and tig welding of aluminum and stainless steel.
  • Apply basic understanding of single-phase and three-phase electrical power for 110V and 230V.
  • Utilize industrial shop tools such as grinders, cutoff saws, band saws, drill presses, hydraulic presses, pipe threading equipment, and table saws.
  • Perform basic vehicle maintenance, including small repairs and troubleshooting.
  • Apply basic carpentry skills.
  • Perform basic fabrication skills, such as building graders and screens.
  • Troubleshoot and repair automated feed systems.
  • Perform greasing using hand grease guns, pump, and canister type greasing systems.
  • Perform lubrication, including gearbox and chain lubrication.
  • Assure safety and quality standards are adhered to.
  • Perform sanitation tasks as assigned.
  • Grade fish for market and around the facility.
  • Load fish for delivery to the processing plant.
  • Deliver fish to the plant (Class B CDL required within a reasonable amount of time).
  • Participate in discussions about confidential/sensitive matters.
  • Communicate with employees and others through written, oral, and face-to-face interactions.
  • Assist other team members in completion of work.
  • Work flexible work schedules with varying hours as required.
  • Perform miscellaneous duties as assigned.
