About The Position
The J.R. Simplot Company is a diverse, privately held global food and agriculture company headquartered in Boise, Idaho. We are a true farm-to-table company with an integrated portfolio including food processing and food brands, phosphate mining, fertilizer manufacturing, farming, ranching and cattle production, and other enterprises related to agriculture. Assists in the general irrigation operation of a large scale farm through maintenance and repair of irrigation pivots.
Requirements
- Ability to understand and speak English.
- Valid driver’s license.
- Able to work outdoors in all weather conditions.
- Able to work well with others in a fast paced environment.
- Able to be on time for shift.
Nice To Haves
- 1 year related experience with pivot irrigation systems and general farming operations.
Responsibilities
- Troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair pivot irrigation systems to ensure proper irrigation for crops in a timely manner.
- Assist in the maintenance of the entire irrigation system, buried pipes and wires, valving, etc.
- Assist in maintaining the farm's physical property which may include building repairs, cleanup, etc.
- Proper use and maintenance of all supplied safety equipment/gear.
- Other duties as assigned.
