About The Position

We are hiring a Family Worker to deliver services and advocacy for families enrolled in our Head Start program, aligned with Performance Standards and the U.C.C.A.C., Inc. Head Start Plan. This role supports family engagement, school readiness goals, and full enrollment. The Family Worker will be responsible for recruitment and enrollment activities, including participating in events, conducting waitlist interviews, and gathering eligibility documentation. They will also engage in strength-based goal setting with families, conduct a minimum of three home visits per year, provide referrals and follow-up, lead parent orientations and workshops, support the Parent Committee/Policy Council, assist with transition planning, and maintain accurate documentation in GoEngage.

Requirements

• Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Human Services or related field
• 2+ years of experience working with at-risk families
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Valid NYS driver’s license
• Reliable transportation
• Ability to lift/carry 50 lbs.

• If degree is in another discipline, complete a related credential within 18 months
