About The Position

Children's Services of Roxbury is seeking a Family Visitation Case Aide to join their team. This role is part of the Family Visitation Program, which provides a safe and professional environment for children and families in the Greater Boston area. The program facilitates supervised and unsupervised visits between children and their parents, adhering to court orders or referrals from the Department of Children and Families (DCF). The Case Aide will ensure visits are conducted safely and professionally, document observations, maintain records, and provide customer service. This position requires the individual to be a Mandated Reporter, maintain confidentiality, exercise sound judgment, and communicate professionally. Responsibilities include supervising visits, completing administrative tasks, case documentation, filing, and responding to communications.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor's degree in Social Work, Psychology, Human Services, Criminal Justice, or a related field.
  • Bilingual proficiency.
  • Experience working with children and families.
  • Experience in domestic violence, child welfare, supervised visitation, behavioral health, or related human services settings.

Responsibilities

  • Understand and implement all Family Visitation Program policies, procedures, DCF requirements, and applicable contracts.
  • Conduct virtual and in-person participant orientations.
  • Review assigned case files prior to scheduled visits.
  • Escort children between caregivers and visiting parties during in-person visits and facilitate virtual visit check-ins.
  • Closely supervise visits while maintaining neutrality and ensuring participant safety.
  • Complete detailed, objective, behavior-based observation reports during each visit.
  • Intervene appropriately when safety concerns or program rule violations arise.
  • Immediately report safety concerns, mandated reporting issues, or critical incidents to the Program Manager, Program Director, Shift Leader, or Security Guard, as appropriate.
  • Maintain professional boundaries and confidentiality at all times.
  • Communicate regularly with families regarding scheduling, program expectations, fees, resources, and general case management needs.
  • Complete all required documentation before the end of each shift.
  • Respond promptly to phone calls and emails.
  • Maintain organized case files and perform administrative duties including filing and record management.
  • Collaborate with team members and assist with coverage when staffing needs arise.
  • Attend all required staff meetings and trainings.
  • Demonstrate professionalism, cultural responsiveness, and respect toward all program participants.
