As a Family Time Coordinator, you’ll play a key role in supporting family reunification and healing—one visit at a time. We are currently seeking to fill a Family Time Coordinator (Social Service Assistant) to join our Child Welfare team in the Pendleton office. The schedule for this position will be from 9am-6pm schedule, Monday-Friday, both in the Pendleton office and within the local community. Candidates chosen to advance in the hiring process will receive an invitation to attend an in‑person interview at our Pendleton, Oregon location.

Requirements

  • A valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record are required for this position.
  • One year of experience working in a human services or behavioral health setting; OR An associate degree in any field; OR An equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Experience being adaptable to flexible scheduling, including overtime and shifting priorities as needed.
  • Skilled in de-escalating tense or hostile situations with professionalism and empathy.
  • Experienced in task organization, prioritization, and time management to consistently meet deadlines.
  • Proven experience successfully engaging and communicating effectively with unmotivated or resistant clients.
  • Proficient in computer applications, including Microsoft Word or various database software programs.

Responsibilities

  • Collect and record information from the caseworker, children, parents, relatives, case providers, schools, and other relevant resources to plan family time visits.
  • Meet with parents and caregivers to review family time agreements and guidelines, suggesting community resources as needed.
  • Supervise family time in an office or community setting, documenting relevant information. This ensures the safety and well-being of the children during these interactions.
  • Assist with transporting children to family time visits and other necessary appointments.
  • Work closely with caseworkers to assess the details of family time supervision. Recommend services needed for case planning and relay important information about the children and their families or caregivers.
