About The Position

Responsible for supervising and facilitating visits between caregivers and their children that are not in their care. Ariel Clinical Services has been in business for over 30 years and offers a broad range of services including residential programs, vocational support, foster care and adoption, therapy, and much more. Requirements

High School Diploma or GED.
One year of experience working with children and families; minimum 21 years old.
Ability and willingness to relate to all cultural, ethnic, and socio-economic groups and different lifestyles.
Ability to identify ways to improve processes, and identify problems and come up with solutions. Know when to ask for help.
Ability to demonstrate maturity, diplomacy, openness and commonsense.
Basic understanding of the laws governing child welfare and foster care.
The ability to communicate verbally and in written format in both individual and group settings.
Ability to be flexible, and able to change direction rapidly.
Ability to work independently and as an effective team member, prioritize workload, complete a wide variety of tasks in a timely and accurate fashion.
Must be available outside of traditional office hours including nights, weekends, and holidays as necessary to perform the functions of the position.
Understanding of how you fit into and impact the whole program and treatment team.
Knowledge of basic parenting skills and child development.
Knowledge of community resources (social, public agency, and information) in order to assist families in accessing these resources.
Ability to effectively help clients achieve their goals, and complete tools that measure client outcomes.
Ability to demonstrate consistent and reliable attendance as scheduled and requested.
Valid Regular Driver’s License, with acceptable driving record.
Complete in-house training for Parenting Time including: CPI, CPR, First Aid, and Basic Parenting Time Training, as directed by supervisor.

Nice To Haves

Bilingual/Bi-literate, preferably in Spanish.

Responsibilities

Coordinate weekly visits for parents and their children and facilitate the visits. Visits may be in the office or in the community.
Effectively and appropriately communicate ideas, thoughts and feelings. Ability to listen. Take responsibility for your actions.
Build and maintain positive relationships with clients, coworkers and supervisors, for personal proficiency on job satisfaction and results while maintaining strict confidentiality.
Understand and demonstrate Ariel and program mission, vision and values.
Intervene during the visit to provide appropriate coaching and/or feedback of parenting skills. Terminate visit, if necessary.
Observe and document parent/child interactions by producing Parenting Time Reports (PTRs) in a timely manner following each visit within the established format and guidelines.
Communicate parent progress and/or pertinent information to the designated treatment team. Testify in court, as required.
As assigned by program manager, attend reviews and necessary meetings at the Department of Human Services. Inform program manager if unable to attend any assigned meetings.
Maintain a safe environment for children and families during visitations.
Work closely with other Ariel Programs and offices.
Performs other duties as assigned.
