Requirements

  • Master’s degree in psychology, social work, or other behavioral health discipline from an accredited college or university required;
  • Minimum LMSW, LGPC, LCSW-C, LCPC, or LCMFT from the State of Maryland is required
  • This role requires strong therapeutic skills, an understanding of family systems in addiction treatment, and a commitment to supporting families in their recovery journey.
  • Case management, including referral, linkage, monitoring, coordination and advocacy problem-solving skills.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office to include Outlook, Word and Excel.
  • CPR Certified.

Responsibilities

  • Participate in Meet & Greets with the social support escorting patients to treatment upon admission, providing them with guidance related to their loved one’s care and answering any questions that they may have.
  • Provide virtual family coaching sessions to offer individualized support and guidance on navigating the recovery process.
  • Assist in virtual family workshops and information sessions to ensure ongoing engagement and education for families.
  • Facilitate lectures and group therapy sessions within the patient community.
  • Facilitate a two-day in-person family program for loved ones visiting patients in residential treatment, incorporating educational workshops, therapeutic discussions, and interactive exercises.
  • Conduct individual family therapy sessions to address relational dynamics, communication barriers, and recovery-related challenges.
  • Facilitate multi-family group therapy and workshops that provide peer support, psychoeducation, and skill-building for families of patients in treatment.
  • Collaborate with the treatment team to integrate family perspectives into treatment planning and discharge planning.
  • Support the development of individualized continuing care plans by addressing family involvement and aftercare options.
  • Participate in interdisciplinary treatment team meetings.
  • Educate families on addiction as a disease, the impact of SUD on family systems, and strategies for healthy boundaries and communication.
  • Provide guidance on coping with a loved one’s recovery, including relapse prevention and self-care strategies for family members.
  • Offer resources and referrals for additional family support services as needed.
  • Maintain clinical documentation in accordance with program standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Stay informed on evidence-based family therapy approaches and integrate best practices into clinical work.
  • Adhere to ethical guidelines and professional standards, including confidentiality and mandated reporting obligations.
  • May develop resources for and/or participate in internal or external trainings, lectures or events on behalf of Ashley.
  • May provide supervision, training and/or guidance to new employees or interns.
