About The Position

The Villages is seeking dedicated individuals to provide family support services to new parents through the Healthy Families program. The Family Support Worker (FSW) will act as a team member in managing and providing client-centered, culturally competent, and effective services to children and their families. This role involves regular and long-term contact and support with families, including home visits using a family-centered and strength-based approach. The goal is to assist families in strengthening the parent-child relationship, improving their support systems, establishing goals, increasing their ability to problem-solve, and assuming the role of advocate for themselves and their children.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Experience in working with or providing services to children and families.
  • Experience and willingness to work with culturally diverse populations.
  • Knowledge of infant and child development.
  • Ability to travel locally on a regular basis.
