This position may be eligible for a hybrid work arrangement that may include a partially remote work location, consistent with System Office policy. UNC Chapel Hill employees are generally required to reside within a reasonable commuting distance of their assigned duty station. If business needs change, an individual employee’s designation may be adjusted with a required minimum of ten (10) business days’ notice unless employee conduct or safety issues necessitate otherwise at the discretion of management. The Family Support Specialist is a 2 year time-limited position. This position will be supporting families of children with special healthcare needs. This position will report to the Program Manager and will work alongside the Program Coordinator. This main duties of this position are: Service system navigation for families through in person, virtual, and social media interactions Development and facilitation of support groups both in person and virtually Development and facilitation of trainings for families and service providers both in person and virtually Engaging with internal and external partners in family centered work Utilizing existing data collection systems to collect data for family work In addition, this position will support other deliverables on a variety of projects with other community organizations. These services may include facilitation of large and small groups, providing training and technical assistance and implementation support.
