About The Position

The Family Support Specialist III provides comprehensive family support services, coordination of community resources, and promoting economic self-sufficiency among residents. This role serves as a subject matter expert and team lead, supporting quality service delivery, data integrity, and outcomes while collaborating closely with the Family Support Manager to guide strategy and continuous improvement.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent education/experience
  • 5 years of nonprofit or human services experience.
  • Valid driver’s license and access to a car for work.
  • Ability to handle privileged information confidentially.
  • Strong independent and teamwork skills.
  • Availability for evening/weekend events and travel.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication.
  • Proficient in facilitating group processes.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Data analysis for resident-driven program designs.
  • Respect for confidentiality and cultural sensitivity.
  • Proficient in MS Office Suite and other software.

Nice To Haves

  • Master’s preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct resident intake, assessments, goal setting, and ongoing case management.
  • Provide individualized support, referrals, and advocacy to promote family stability and economic self-sufficiency.
  • Maintain strict confidentiality and comply with all privacy and data protection requirements.
  • Coach and mentor family support staff to strengthen service quality and consistency.
  • Serve as a resource for complex or high-risk cases and escalate issues as appropriate.
  • Analyze data and develop strategies with the Family Support Manager.
  • Provide resources and knowledge for clients to access capital, including loans for financial goals like housing and consumer products, to build credit, reduce debt, and support wealth growth through entrepreneurship.
  • Hosting in-person and virtual seminars for clients seeking financial literacy management resources and capital access.
  • Supporting and promoting the development of the USI CDFI client base.
