The Family Support Coordinator with OurLegacy and hospital ICU teams to guide grieving families through the initial phases of loss with an emphasis on the end-of-life decision to donate organs. The Family Support Coordinator will support families through acute loss, discussing donation options with the legally authorized party (LAP) in cases when registered donation intentions are not known, and advising families about navigating their loved one's donation decision in registered cases. The Family Support Coordinator completes all local documents authorizing donation, including the Donor Risk Assessment Interview (DRAI), and provides continued care thorough the donation process. The Family Support Coordinator collaborates with the organ recovery and ICU staff to offer meaningful interactions and interventions to families in crisis and supports families in an empathetic and compassionate manner that is respectful of cultural and religious beliefs. Actively participates in outstanding customer service and accepts responsibility in maintaining relationships that are equally respectful to all.
