About The Position
This position is responsible for receiving, sorting, and storing donated items in the warehouse storage area. The role involves determining the acceptability of donated items based on established standards and assisting in maintaining the orderliness and cleanliness of the warehouse area. The job also includes preparing non-suitable items for discard and maintaining the warehouse and loading dock area in a neat and orderly manner.
Requirements
- Ability to meet attendance requirements
- Ability to communicate the English language
- Ability to physically lift and carry and /or push/pull light objects (less than 25 lbs.)
- Moderate mobility: duties are usually performed by combinations of sitting, standing, and walking on a frequent change basis
- Distance of travel is usually within the same building
- No formal education or experience required
- Any equivalent combination of training and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities
Responsibilities
- Receives, sorts, and stores donated items in the Warehouse storage area
- Determines the acceptability of donated items based on established standards
- Assists in maintaining the orderliness and cleanliness of the warehouse area
- Receives, inspects and sorts donated items according to the category and condition
- Tags items with dates in accordance with established procedures
- Prepares non-suitable items for discard
- Lifts and carries items to the appropriate destination for further processing and storage
- Maintains warehouse and loading dock area in a neat and orderly manner
- Cleans floors, tables and work areas
