About The Position

Koinonia Family Services is seeking a part-time Family Specialist for its post-adoption wraparound program serving families in the Bakersfield area. The role provides direct support to families who have adopted children or youth from the foster care system and are experiencing behavioral or mental health challenges. Family Specialists work with youth and families in their homes and communities to build positive relationships, model positive behavior, implement targeted behavioral interventions, and support stability, safety, and well-being. The schedule is approximately 5–10 hours per week, with occasional evening and weekend hours. More hours may become available as the program serves additional families. Candidates must complete California Department of Justice and FBI criminal background clearances, a pre-employment physical, and a TB test. A valid driver’s license, auto insurance, and reliable transportation are required because driving is an essential job function, including visits to client homes and transporting youth.
