About The Position

This position is located in Ardmore, Oklahoma. The role involves managing a caseload and providing services for individuals and their families. Responsibilities include evaluating needs, making referrals, assessing eligibility for programs, interviewing clients, compiling and entering data, and participating in training and staff conferences. The specialist will also establish and grow community partnerships to serve shared customers while maintaining confidentiality.

Requirements

  • Must possess a valid driver's license and maintain required car insurance.
  • Must attend mandatory in-office training, including JumpSTARt Training located at a regional training facility.
  • Level I: Two years of clerical office work in a business, public sector, or social work environment; OR an equivalent combination of education and experience, substituting thirty semester hours of college for each year of the required experience.
  • Level II: A bachelor’s degree; OR an associate’s degree plus two years of clerical office work in a business, public sector, or social work environment OR an equivalent combination of education and experience, substituting one additional year of experience in professional business, public sector, or social work environment for each year of the bachelor’s degree. OR two (2) years of experience as a Family Services Specialist.

Responsibilities

  • Manages a caseload and provides services for individuals and their families.
  • Evaluates the needs of individuals and families and make referrals to community resources.
  • Assesses the needs of individuals and determines eligibility for specific programs.
  • Interviews clients by phone or in an office setting.
  • Compiles data, complete documentation, and enters data electronically to determine eligibility.
  • Participates in individual and staff conferences and committee work as assigned.
  • Must attend all mandatory training associated with the position.
  • Establish, engage, and grow positive and effective community partnerships with interested members of the public, service providers, and vendors in a supportive and teamwork-oriented professional manner; work effectively with partners to serve shared customers while maintaining confidentiality.
