About The Position

Acelero, Inc. is seeking a dynamic Family Services & Health Coordinator to drive their mission of eliminating the gaps between young children’s potential and their success in school and life. This role involves developing, implementing, and refining family engagement and health and wellness approaches to promote family outcomes that support children's school readiness and health and well-being. The coordinator will also build community partnerships, enhance family life practices, maintain quality improvement systems, oversee the Health and Mental Health Services Advisory Committee, and coordinate recruitment strategies to enroll children with the greatest need. Additionally, the role supports the ERSEA Coordinator in overseeing Family Advocates, aligns the Family Engagement approach with the Office of Head Start’s Parent Family Community Engagement Framework, provides coaching to Family Advocates, and utilizes data to track outcomes and refine strategies.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s in Family and Child Development, Public Health, Social Work or related field; masters preferred.
  • At least 3 years experience working with diverse families in low-income communities, with supervisory responsibilities.
  • Experience and/or education in health, public health; LPN, or RN is preferred.
  • Maintain certification in CPR and First Aid.
  • Work flexible hours to meet the program and community needs.
  • Physical exam and background checks are required for this position.
  • Travel required locally or long-distance up to 10% of the time for work-related meetings and functions.
  • Must have a valid driver’s license and/or reliable transportation.

Responsibilities

  • Work in collaboration with the Grantee/Partner and the Family Engagement Team to develop, implement, and refine Shine Early Learning’s family engagement and health and wellness approaches, promoting family outcomes that support children’s school readiness and health and well-being.
  • Develop community partnerships to ensure that children and families' self-sufficiency and preventive and health treatment needs are met, and secure long-term relationships are established between families and providers who will support their children's and families' long-term health and development.
  • Build a team that works collaboratively with Early Learning and MH and Disabilities staff to enhance family life practices and circumstances that promote child development, health, and wellbeing.
  • Maintain qualitative and quantitative quality improvement and monitoring systems to assure that program strategies are executed with reliability, fidelity, and quality.
  • Oversee Health and Mental Health Services Advisory Committee.
  • Work in coordination with program leadership and ERSEA Coordinator to develop and implement targeted recruitment strategies for their zone and overall program that assure enrollment of children with greatest need, including children of working families eligible for child care subsidies.
  • Coordinate with leadership to assure that the family services and early learning teams work together to assure on-time daily attendance of all children, and to implement strategies to reduce chronic absence.
  • Support the ERSEA Coordinator in overseeing Family Advocates as they complete the application/eligibility and intake processes.
  • Work with agency leadership to align program’s Family Engagement approach with the Office of Head Start’s Parent Family Community Engagement Framework, and to enhance interventions to achieve family outcomes in the seven targeted outcome areas.
  • Provide coaching and support to Family Advocates to assure the reliability of family assessment and goal progress data and to strengthen staff focus on outcomes-focused family interventions.
  • Utilize qualitative audit and external evaluation data to track child and family outcomes and to refine strategies to enhance family impact.
  • Support Family Advocates in assisting families to set individualized, evidence-based goals and make demonstrable changes in family life practices linked to school.
