About The Position

The Family Services Coordinator supports initiatives that create meaningful, practical impact for military families and the broader community. This role coordinates community-driven projects/events, donor-supported giveaways, family service programs (Operation Ride Home, Operation Kid Comfort, Recreation Center, Project Liberty Call, and Temporary Emergency Assistance Program) and short-term special initiatives from planning through completion.

Requirements

  • Must at least be 18 years old.
  • Must have a valid driver license and pass drug screening and background check.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to build positive relationships with donors, families, volunteers, and community partners.
  • Comfortable managing multiple projects and priorities simultaneously.
  • Strong attention to detail and follow-through.
  • Ability to work independently while also collaborating effectively with a team.
  • Resourceful, flexible, and willing to take on new challenges.
  • Proficiency with common office and communication tools.
  • Able to work a flexible schedule including nights, weekends, and holidays.
  • Able to travel, as required.
  • Able to successfully pass a background check.
  • Able to perform sedentary work including working at a workstation and performing repetitive keyboarding activities.
  • Occasionally lifts, carries, and balances objects weighing up to 40 pounds
  • Pulls and pushes such objects as file drawers and supplies.
  • Prioritizes and multi-tasks work and projects requiring good memory, concentration, and analytical thinking
  • Able to operate general office equipment.
  • Visual and hearing acuity is necessary to operate equipment, use telecommunication, read fine print, and utilize a computer monitor throughout a normal workday.
  • Must be able to hear, and see including peripheral vision and distinction of colors, read and communicate verbally and in writing frequently with a wide range of individuals from divergent socio-economic and cultural backgrounds and origins

Nice To Haves

  • At least 1 year of experience in community programs, nonprofit work, customer service, project coordination, military family support, or a related field preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate and execute family service programs and events and initiatives designed to support military families and strengthen community connections.
  • Help identify opportunities to provide meaningful resources, experiences, and assistance to military families.
  • Coordinate one-time events and giveaways and donor-supported initiatives, including planning, communication, distribution, and follow-up.
  • Ensure families and community partners receive timely, professional, and welcoming support.
  • Maintain accurate records related to projects, donors, distributions, and program participation.
  • Track project outcomes and provide updates to leadership.
  • Collect feedback and help evaluate the effectiveness and community impact of service events/programs.
  • Prepare reports, summaries, and documentation as needed.
  • Build and maintain positive relationships with community donors, volunteers, businesses, and partner organizations.
  • Coordinate donated goods, services, resources, and other contributions.
  • Communicate project needs and opportunities to community partners.
  • Provide appropriate follow-up and recognition to donors and community supporters.
  • Help identify new community partnerships and opportunities for collaboration.
  • Lead short-term projects from concept through completion.
  • Coordinate timelines, resources, communications, logistics, and follow-up for assigned projects.
  • Adapt quickly to changing priorities and emerging community needs.
  • Serve as a flexible resource for projects and responsibilities that fall outside of regular program operations.
  • Identify challenges and develop practical solutions to keep projects moving forward.
