About The Position

CVOEO is hiring a Family Services Coordinator to join our Voices Against Violence program. In conjunction with the Program Director, this position is responsible for coordinating services pertaining to children and their families including providing support and advocacy to children and their caregivers, implementing the shelter’s children’s program, consulting with Department of Children and Families (DCF) and supporting families with DCF involvement and participating in collaborative systems work in Franklin and Grand Isle Counties. At Voices Against Violence, we believe everyone deserves to live free from violence and abuse. For more than 40 years, we have worked to empower survivors, educate communities, and prevent sexual violence, domestic violence, and stalking through direct services, community education, advocacy, and systems change.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in human service field, (i.e., Social Work, Counseling, Childhood Education, etc.) or equivalent education/experience and knowledge of domestic and sexual violence issues.
  • Commitment to valuing diversity and contributing to an inclusive working and learning environment.
  • Treat others with dignity and respect regardless of differences in background and experience.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills required; bilingual abilities are a plus.
  • Excellent interpersonal communication skills, including the ability to work sensitively with diverse populations and in high-stress environments.
  • A highly motivated and responsible individual with the ability to relate to a wide variety of people in a nonjudgmental, positive, and competent manner.
  • Excellent presentation and education skills and ability to relate to children/youth.
  • Clean driving record, valid driver’s license, and access to reliable transportation must be maintain and ability and willingness to travel within CVOEO service area.
