Family Service Specialist
About The Position
Your Mission As a Family Service Specialist, you’ll help families connect to the Head Start Program and other important services. This role exists to build strong parent partnerships, keep enrollment thriving, and ensure families receive steady, organized support. A Day With Impact You’ll spend your day moving between upbeat outreach and meaningful one-on-one connection—checking in with families, keeping plans current, and celebrating progress that’s earned step by step. Some moments are fast-paced (calls, coordination, quick problem-solving); others are deeply human (listening, encouraging, and helping a parent feel seen). You’ll wrap up by organizing next steps so tomorrow starts with clarity, not chaos.
Requirements
- Associate’s degree (or equivalent) in Human Development, Family Studies, Sociology, or a related field
- One (1) year of related family services experience working with adults (or an equivalent combination of education and experience)
Responsibilities
- Recruiting children and families to maintain full enrollment
- Building trust-based relationships with parents
- Partnering with staff to assess needs, create and update individualized family plans, and coordinate services
- Completing required family partnership and goal-setting forms
- Making timely referrals to community agencies and adult education resources
