About The Position

This is a heartwarming opportunity for compassionate providers who love making a difference! We work with members throughout Wisconsin to find providers that fit each of their needs. Our goal is to help individuals be in more control of their own supports and to have a say in who is assisting them. This helps them to stay in their own homes as long as possible. A family in Eau Claire is seeking a compassionate, dependable, and energetic respite care provider to support three young boys and provide meaningful relief for the family. This is a rewarding opportunity for someone who enjoys working with children with special needs, creating engaging activities, and building positive, trusting relationships in a supportive home environment. The position will begin with flexible, hourly care provided in the family’s home, allowing the children and provider time to build comfort, consistency, and connection. As the relationship develops, the role is expected to expand to include overnight respite care provided in the caregiver’s home.

Requirements

Valid driver’s license.
Reliable vehicle.
Auto insurance.
Authorized to work in the U.S.
Ability to Pass a Caregiver/Criminal Background Check.
Patient, calm, and consistent demeanor.
Ability to manage behaviors without raising voice or becoming overwhelmed.
Physically active and attentive.
Experienced in childcare.
Strong communicator.
Understanding of child development, non-verbal communication styles and behavioral needs.

Nice To Haves

Experience working with children with special needs.
Experience in respite care.
Separate sleeping arrangements for the boys are a plus (not required).

Responsibilities

General supervision of three young boys.
Ensuring safety of the children.
Assisting with meals.
Supporting bedtime routines.
Providing light personal care related to toileting, including assistance with pull-ups and bowel movements.
